FROM GAZA TO JENIN: Israel’s Genocidal War on Palestine Exposes the Cruel Hypocrisy of “Never Again”
By Vincent Lyn
For decades, Israel has cloaked itself in the memory of the Holocaust, weaponizing its history to shield its crimes and masquerading as a sanctuary for Jews against global antisemitism. But Israel was never a sanctuary — it was a ghetto of its own making, a fortress-state built on occupation, fueled by fear, and sustained by endless war. It was never a safeguard against genocide; it was genocide’s embittered offspring — traumatized, vengeful, and determined to unleash upon others the very horrors that once befell it.
The lessons of “never again” were not learned. Instead, Israel adopted a worldview in which the world itself was an extermination camp-in-waiting, where trust was naïve, where life was a zero-sum game, where survival meant crushing others first. It has wielded this paranoia as a justification for endless bloodshed, turning the dream of a homeland into a nightmare for Palestinians.
That nightmare reached its nadir in Gaza, where for over 15 months, Israel has waged an unrelenting genocide. Tens of thousands slaughtered. Entire neighborhoods obliterated. Hospitals bombed. Families starved. Children buried beneath the rubble of their homes. Israel did not just erase lives; it erased entire histories, entire futures. And yet, as Gaza burns, Israel tightens its grip on Jenin, turning the city into yet another killing field.
Jenin is being methodically transformed into another Gaza — besieged, starved, and bombarded into submission. Food and electricity are cut off, plunging families into darkness and hunger. Airstrikes rain down, blowing apart homes, reducing entire blocks to rubble. Mass arbitrary arrests sweep up Palestinians, many of whom will never be seen again. Hospitals and infrastructure are systematically destroyed, ensuring that even those who survive the bombs are left to rot in an unlivable wasteland.
To complete its crime, Israel has imposed a total media blackout. The same suppression tactics used in Gaza are now deployed in Jenin, silencing journalists, blocking cameras, and burying the truth beneath a flood of propaganda. This is not an operation. It is not security. It is the slow, methodical extermination of a people. It is ethnic cleansing in real time.
And yet, the world watches in silence. Western leaders who chant “never again” each January turn away as Israel commits the very atrocity they claim to mourn. Holocaust Remembrance Day has been stripped of meaning, turned into a grotesque farce by a state that desecrates its own past with every bomb it drops.
Israel was never a bulwark against genocide. It became its perpetrator. It was never an antidote to antisemitism. It became its greatest addict, needing a constant fix to justify its crimes. And it was never a beacon of Jewish safety. It was always a death trap, where the pursuit of absolute power has led to absolute moral collapse.
Gaza and Jenin are not isolated tragedies. They are the latest chapters in a long, brutal campaign to erase Palestine. And unless the world breaks its silence, unless it forces Israel to end its march toward annihilation, Jenin will not be the last. The horror will spread. The killing will continue. And the words “never again” will be nothing more than a bitter, hollow lie.
